And once we got into the buying process, he'd fill in for us when we couldn't make it to any of our inspections, fight for us when we needed something negotiated, and encourage us when it all seemed overwhelming. The seller was FannieMae (the property had been foreclosed) and the amount of paperwork and the idiosyncrasies of dealing with a quasi-government seller were formidable - far more involved than buying from an individual seller.
